About UsAbout FTW Ranch
TW comprises a team who operates hunting adventures and the SAAM Training courses on the FTW Ranch. The FTW Ranch offers an exceptional fair-chase hunting experience on over 12,000 acres of rugged hills and valleys in the southwest region of the Texas Hill Country. The FTW Ranch provides an ideal habitat for trophy-class whitetail deer and wild, introduced exotic species to thrive and grow as they would in their indigenous environments.
SAAM Training courses specialize in training and preparing hunters of ALL levels for any worldwide hunting adventure, costly and dangerous or otherwise. Diverse ranges situated throughout the FTW Ranch, feature angled shooting, excellent wind calling opportunities and animated, life-size, interactive target systems – all of which are designed to sharpen skills, quicken reaction time and maintain alertness in the field.
ACCOMMODATIONS AND FACILITIES
The FTW Lodge is an 8,000 square foot facility and is equipped with wireless internet access, a guest phone line, entertainment equipment, TV, fireplace, comfy couches, a separate dining area and a customized bar built with rocks and cedar gathered from the Ranch.
The Lodge also features a separate classroom with electronic training equipment, an 80″ LED HDTV, tables and chairs. The classroom easily doubles as a boardroom and can be completely closed off from the rest of the Lodge for privacy.
A covered parking area off the front of the Lodge, houses a fleet of 8 jeeps, each of which is configured with a raised back seat for greater off-road comfort and prime viewing.
After an intense day on the ranges or hunting in the early morning and late afternoon, many guests gather around the bar or fireplace in the evening to share stories of the day and relax. Guests may also congregate around the sunken fire pit on the patio, which is especially popular during the fall and winter months.
Please note: Cell phone service is spotty at best, and many carriers DO NOT have coverage on the Ranch.
FTW Ranch has 13 private, well-appointed, comfortable guest cabins that are situated around the Lodge. 9 cabins have two queen size beds and 4 have a private bedroom with a queen, in addition to two full size beds in the main room. All cabins feature an en-suite private bathroom, air-conditioning, linens/towels, fans and an area to hang clothing.
The Lodge has a guest laundry room with full-size washer and dryer for use during your stay. Detergent, bleach and dryer sheets are provided.
FTW offers a wide selection of rifles and/or pistols (varying calibers, makes and models) that may be rented for $100 per day, plus the cost of ammunition, most of which may be purchased on the Ranch. This provides the perfect situation if you are in the market to purchase a new rifle and would like to sample a few before buying.
The FTW Ranch offers twenty six diverse ranges located throughout the property. The Lodge Range, a known distance range, serves as the ideal spot to sight-in rifles. Most of the marksmanship ranges feature a covered shooting platform, which offers protection from the intense Texas sun, but not the wind, which makes them ideal for practicing wind calls. Several marksmanship ranges offer hunting targets out to 500 yards in addition to steel target ranges beyond 500 yards for target shooters.
Our drive-around shooting courses provide students with many different realistic and challenging hunting scenarios, where distances and conditions are not immediately known. Other ranges feature life-size, moving and interactive targets where students practice a series of drills designed to emulate running and charging game. Not all ranges are utilized during every SAAM course as some are customized for specific courses.
Items and services not included in the Hunt Package price include: Trophy Fees for any animal shot or wounded (wounded animals ARE considered harvested); Gratuities; Taxidermy; Shipping/Freight for any items shipped to/from the Ranch; and Airfare and Transportation to and from the FTW Ranch and any Hotels utilized or Meals consumed along the way.
Taxidermy and Trophy Care
We skin and quarter your trophy at the Ranch and if you choose not to take your trophies with you, we can arrange to transport the head, horns and hides to a local taxidermist who can salt and dry them in preparation for shipment to your favorite taxidermist. Any taxidermy work arranged by us is subject to the taxidermist’s current rates. If you do not wish to take the meat with you, we can arrange for it be donated.
