Western Caucasian Tur

HABITAT

West Caucasian Tur live in rough mountainous terrain between 800 and 4,000 m (2,600 and 13,100 ft) above sea level, where they eat mainly grass and leaves  They females live in small herds, and the older males live singly or in separate groups and live up to 18 years.  Wild population is estimated at 5,000 to 6,000 individuals.
