HABITAT

Transcaspian Urials are large, beautiful sheep that can be found plateaus, coastal cliffs, and mountainous regions of Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Iran, and Afghanistan. 

The Transcapian Urial is a strikingly attractive wild sheep. They have a long flowing neck bib and ruff which can reach 9″. Some believe this particular species is the one from which all others descended.

There is a strict hierarchy among rams based on their age and the size of their massive curling horns. The ram with the biggest horns is the leader.

HABITAT

The Iranian red sheep lives mostly in open rough terrain at medium or high altitudes, where they inhabit rocky hill country, lowland and highland steppes, and rocky semi-deserts, and grass-covered slopes and alpine meadows, spending summer at high elevations, up to 6000 meters, right below the permanent snow. In winter they move lower and may come into the valleys. They live in small or larger herds, and in the summer the older males live singly or in separate groups. They may live up to 18 years.

HABITAT
Originally, European Mouflon lived in open, mountainous terrain on stony, dry soils. Today, in Central Europe, they live in deciduous and mixed forests, both on the lowlands and on the uplands and highlands such as the Central Uplands of Germany, but still preferring dry and stony soils. In unfavourable, humid soil conditions, it is easy for bowel diseases and foot rot to occur, which can be fatal.

They spend the summer at the highest elevations, right below the permanent snow. In winter, they move lower and may come into the valleys. They live in small or large herds, and in the summer, the older males live singly or in separate groups and live up to 18 years.
