Thanks to the SAAM course I took at FTW Ranch a few months ago, I was able to take the bear with a single, well-placed shot—right behind the left shoulder, with the bullet exiting through the heart. And this was with a rented rifle that I only had the chance to test with two practice shots before the hunt!
The reason I’m writing is to express my gratitude and acknowledge the confidence the SAAM course gave me in handling firearms properly, which enabled an ethical and responsible hunt. SAAM gave me the skills and confidence to hunt safely—even with unfamiliar rifles.
Thank you again for all your attention and support during the course I attended last June 2025. I’m certain that the success of my recent hunt in Romania wouldn’t have been possible without your guidance.

My FTW training was crucial in taking my first 6×6 Bull. After 18 years of
applying I drew a Utah tag and killed this bull at 525 yards. Thanks Tim

Tim, Dave, Ef, and Doug,
I finally did it!! I ended up with 9 animals on my hunt, and all went down on the first shot (heart/lung for 8 and headshot for 1). (Put an extra in the buffalo for good measure). Ranged from 25-200yards off the truck, sticks, and freehand. Your safari course prepared me better than I could have ever hoped. There were so many similar situations in my hunt from your course, and I felt confident and prepared for each shot.
Thank you all for your patience and effort in teaching these courses!! Can’t wait for my next one. (Already planning my leopard hunt next…)
